This collector’s item was crafted in the Victorian era using the rarity of genuine Pinchbeck, an alloy of copper and zinc that was once used to mimic the appearance of 18k gold during a time when occurrences like stagecoach theft were commonplace. It was essentially used to make some of the ‘costume’ jewelry from the early 18th to mid-19th centuries. As such, pinchbeck pieces in such excellent condition are incredibly hard to find, especially in such interesting designs, which makes this piece so special.
